UK mainland pub density map

Below are maps generated from the location data of over 28,000 pubs from www.beerintheevening.com. Each pixel on the maps corresponds to 6.5 km2 on the ground.

The map on the left shows higher pub density as brighter colours. Click on the squares in the middle map to zoom in to 0.04 km2/pixel resolution (the main roads are defined beautifully on the map of London). The map on the right shows which 6.5 km2 squares contain at least one pub. If you're thinking of opening a pub then you can easily spot the gaps in the market.

The highest pub density is in the Soho area of London. If you stand at this point you will be in the centre of a 1km diameter circle containing a staggering 167 pubs!
